DAVE GROHL Talks About Playing On New NINE INCH NAILS Album
July 5, 2005Launch Radio Networks reports: Sometime in the last year, while making the new FOO FIGHTERS album, Dave Grohl also found time to go into the studio with Trent Reznor and play drums on the latest NINE INCH NAILS record, "With Teeth". While it might seem like coordinating their schedules would be a nightmare, Grohl told Launch it was much simpler than that. "Trent Reznor, I've met him over the years a bunch of times," he said. "We were never, like, best friends, close friends, but he's a good guy, you know. And he wanted some drums on his record and he called up, and asked me if I was into it, I said, 'Yeah.' He sent over the demos that night, I called him up after I listened to 'em once and I said, 'I'm into it,' and he said, 'When you can start?' I said, 'Let's do it tomorrow.'"
Dave Grohl also played drums on QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's 2002 effort, "Songs for the Deaf".
"With Teeth", which arrived in stores on May 3, was certified gold last week for sale of more than 500,000 copies. The new FOO FIGHTERS album, "In Your Honor", was released on June 14 and debuted at Number Two on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.
Both bands are currently touring Europe. NINE INCH NAILS will start a North American trek with QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE on September 16 in San Diego, while FOO FIGHTERS are expected to hit the road this fall with WEEZER.
